For more than 50 years, our team at Penn Jersey Paper has been committed to bringing our customers the very best in supply chain services. It all began in 1963, when Thomas Furia Sr. founded the company with a passion for helping businesses. Today, our family-owned company continues that tradition.
From Supermarkets to Super Savings
PJP history started as a small business that worked primarily as a packaging distributor for supermarkets. As new opportunities emerged, the company began to branch out into other industries, distributing to butchers, bakeries and restaurants. With 20 local distributors in the region, PJP quickly separated from the pack as a service oriented company that was usually first to market with innovation and packaging alternatives. Known for saving customers money, or showing customers merchandising options to compete with the national chains – PJP was a true solutions provider. PJP recognized opportunities in other markets and to their current base and began adding services to their catalog in the 1980s, such as janitorial equipment and foodservice supplies.
In the 2000s, the company made three significant acquisitions that bolstered business and made PJP a leader in the distribution industry. With a focus on excellent customer service, PJP grew a reputation for featuring packaging alternatives and innovation, both of which have been helping customers save money for decades.
Today, Penn Jersey Paper remains a Furia family-owned business and is one of the most cost-effective wholesale distributor in the Mid-Atlantic region. We moved into a new LEED Certified distribution center in Northeast Philadelphia in 2011 and continue to help our customers through providing people-to-people services.
