Title: Contract Foodservice and Equipment Sales

Department: Equipment and Supplies

Reports to: Director of Contract Design

Job Summary:

The Contract Foodservice and Equipment Sales Position is responsible for providing and selling design, equipment, and project management services to commercial foodservice operators.This position will prospect, penetrate, and maintain business utilizing strategic and consultative selling tactics to maximize sales and profits of foodservice products and services. The Contract Sales position is to act as a vested business partner of our valued customers through innovative, creative, and appropriate recommendations of solutions to meet their fiscal and business objectives.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate leads and secure new accounts
  • Responsible for the layout and design of full service commercial kitchen when required
  • Ascertain customer needs through observation and listening and recommend appropriate and innovative solutions
  • Develop and maintain regular communication with key accounts
  • Use preferred vendors at all possible times, try to specify
  • Request quotes from vendors, secure pricing protection and review quotes for accuracy
  • Estimate and prepare formal quotations for equipment jobs
  • Provide value engineering solutions
  • Remain current on product knowledge through attendance of sales meetings, vendor trainings, reading industry related publications, and participating in industry related professional organizations
  • Ensure adherence to timeline and budget requirements
  • Accurately produce complex quotes from a set of construction documents
  • Coordinate with architects and engineers, estimators, installers, and appropriate construction trades
  • Expedite orders, proactively manage lead times and communicate with customer
  • Obtain field measurements as needed
  • Approve manufacturer shop drawings for accuracy of proper equipment description and physical requirements
  • Project manage and oversee job installations, conduct site visits, and attend job meetings as needed or per customer requirements
  • Finish jobs in a timely manner, including but not limited to conducting and completing punch lists, final billing, change orders, etc.
  • Address warranty issues in a professional and timely fashion
  • Expected to grow capabilities to perform position with greater efficiency annually
  • Expand knowledge of other jobs within the organization
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner that fosters positive relations with customers, vendors, and internal company personnel
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Architectural or Construction-related field or Culinary Degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced proficiency with AutoQuotes
  • 5+ years foodservice industry sales and project management experience
  • Extensive knowledge in commercial kitchen layout and design
  • Knowledge of Design Technology software is preferred
  • CFSP Certified or credits toward certification is preferred
  • Excellent presentation and selling skills
  • Proven success in building long-term and growing relationships with customers, local chef organizations, general contractors and trades, architects, manufacturers, vendors, and co-workers
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Basic working knowledge of general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office products
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral, and timely and thorough follow-up
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with others and exhibit a customer service attitude always
  • Ability to take initiative and strong sense of ownership
  • Strong time management & organizational skills 3
  • Strong math skills; ability to accurately calculate (freight quotes, order pricing, margins)

 Abilities Required:

Position requires to be around various tools, machinery, and equipment directly related to the foodservice industry. Environmental conditions may include exposure to chemicals, noise, illumination, air quality, weather exposure, etc. There also will be occasional exposure to extreme temperatures (i.e., freezers and refrigerators).
