Delivery Route Truck Driver

Job Title:                  Delivery Route Truck Driver

Reports to:              Transportation Manager
Job Summary:
Drives truck to deliver products to customer’s home or place of business with the customer in mind where service is first.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collect money from customers, makes change, and records transactions on customer receipt.
  • Write customer order and instructions.
  • Record sales or deliveries information on daily sales or delivery record.
  • Inform regular customers of new products or services.
  • Listen to and resolves service complaints.
  • Place stock on shelves or racks.
  • Sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issues sales promotion materials to customers.
  • Collect or pick up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
  • Load truck.
  • Issue or obtain customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
  • Clean inside of truck.
  • Perform daily inspections on truck.
  • CDL A with Hazmat Endorsement required

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 – 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills                                                   
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability                                                
  •  Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills                                                   
  •  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software and Order processing systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 
  • Must possess Current CDL Class A license with hazmat endorsement, medical card, and all required Federal Documentation

  • (The regular workweek shall consist of five (5) consecutive eight (8) hour days, Monday through Friday; Overtime may increase shift hours.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
